The Electrical Joint Training Committee (EJTC) respects the privacy of all website users including IBEW members, contractors, apprentices, students and the general public. We are committed to protecting the privacy of the personal information we gather and retain from the website. If you have privacy questions, complaints or concerns please contact the Privacy Officer at privacy.officer@ejtc.org.

The EJTC may collect the IP address and domain that you are using to access our website: the type and version of web browser and operating system you are using; the number, duration, and frequency of visits to our website; and the identities of the websites you came from and visit next. However, this information cannot be traced to individual users as they visit our website without telling us who they are or revealing any personal information. The EJTC uses this information for statistical analysis of industry trends, to monitor website performance, plan website improvements, and track information in aggregate form.

The EJTC may share or disclose information about its website users (in aggregate form) on a need-to-know basis with its information systems consultants, International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers (IBEW) International Office and affiliated labour organizations, Local 213 IBEW, Electrical Contractors’ Association of B.C. (ECA of BC)and its member contractors, National Electrical Trades Council (NETCO) and member organizations, Industry Training Authority (ITA), Private Career Training Institutions Agency (PCTIA), BCIT and other public training institutes, and other Joint Apprenticeship/Training Committees (JATC’s) across Canada and the United States.

Personal information will be collected only upon completion and submission of various documents including (but not limited to): application forms and supportive documentation, work experience reports, registration forms, ITA transcripts, trade certifications, college transcripts and various questionnaires/surveys contained within the website. This information may be shared with IBEW local 213, ECA of BC contractors hiring EJTC sponsored apprentices, IBEW H+W/Pension Trust, ITA, PCTIA and student funding agencies, only as needed to facilitate the administration, compliance and oversight of all requirements of the apprenticeship program (including apprentice, journeyperson, employer tax credits and government incentive programs), journeyperson upgrading programs and the operation of the EJTC training school. In addition, the contact information and email will be used to communicate with the website user only as required to distribute related industry, apprenticeship and training information.

EJTC apprentices authorize representatives of the EJTC to share and update information pertinent to their apprenticeship with the Industry Training Authority (ITA).  Such information includes but is not limited to your full name, mailing address, email address, phone number, birth date, government issued apprenticeship and Trades worker ID numbers, school results and any apprenticeship information that is required to complete your apprenticeship.

EJTC apprentices also authorize representatives of the EJTC to sign, on their behalf, any documents pertaining to their apprenticeship which may be required to set up, maintain, update and close their records until such time as they complete or leave the EJTC apprenticeship program.

We do not share any information with these websites, and we encourage you to obtain and read their privacy policies before you do.
